A Papered Wonders Event

On Monday, March 22, I’m attending what I think is a brilliant event being planned by the fabulous Lisa of Papered Wonders. I can’t tell you just how excited I am that Papered Wonders took this very impressive initiation to bring her peers together and show support for one another. Yes, I know we attend events all the time but this event is really geared planned by a stationers for stationers. Having been in this industry for a while, I truly believe in and value the relationships I have with people in our industry as some of my closest girlfriends are in the industry. When you are united like this, it strengthens you as an individual and as a group as most of us admire what the other does.

I am often reminded how some are reluctant to share their knowledge with someone who’s perhaps just starting out and one thing I learned very early on when I started in this industry; when you give you receive.

I would strongly encourage each and every one of you who’s reading this to show your support and to get to know each other and yes; I know the other person might very well be your competitor but trust me when I testify this to you. One day, you might be stuck in a jam where a client is concerned and you might not be able to fulfill your obligation to that client and how nice is it to know that you can call one of your peers whom you knew very well and he or she is able to bail you out? Or how lovely would it be if you receive a call from a client and he or she revealed to you that you were in fact referred by your competitor because they could not service that particular client? I know it made me smile tremendously when I’ve received those calls in the past and even more when I’ve send my competitor a client.

Inspired by Papered Wonders,

  1. Thank you so much for the inspiring words! I’ve always thought there is enough business in our industry for everyone. Individually, we can’t be everything to everyone but collectively, we can produce some of the most beautiful and heartfelt events anywhere.
